Are you involved? Thinking about it? What are you doing to help? I've nearly finished...
....and don't know whether to despair or feel inspired

Read it many months ago. Some chapters work, some fail spectacularly especially those that think the crisis can be changed by elections. Doesn't mention Veganism much either.
ER is a wide ranging movement which, unfortunately, allows dicks like that Mr Broccoli to make a fool of himself on national television. Also, the idiot who attempted to stop a mass transit underground train, err, less public transport??
I've been to a few demos here in Scarborough and it's good to see the young taking the initiative. One demo was addressed by the Labour Parliamentary candidate, who was clueless to the groundswell around him.
The time is now, obviously, but old boomers like me should not get in the way.

Yes, agree with all of that
As you say the book is a right old mish mash and not quite "the handbook" I was expecting
Still at least they are doing something, and recognise that NGOs and marches are not likely to achieve anything but lip service

Just reflecting that if the world was freaking out about Climate Change like it is currently about Covid-19 / Coronavirus, which is such a relatively minor and short term threat, we'd have our priorities straight
Plus, how many people are going to die from heart attacks, strokes, cancer etc relative to Covid-19? All causes of premature death that can be avoided via dietary and lifestyle changes? Call me a cynic but if Big Pharma could monetise changing people's diets and lifestyles we'd virtually eradicate the big killers in the developed world.

Enormous emissions gap between top 1% and poorest, study highlights‘Polluting elite’ responsible for same amount of carbon dioxide in a year as poorest 10% are in a decade, data showsThe top 1% of earners in the UK are responsible for the same amount of carbon dioxide emissions in a single year as the bottom 10% over more than two decades, new data has shown.
The findings highlight the enormous gaps between what have been termed “the polluting elite”, whose high-carbon lifestyles fuel the climate crisis, and the majority of people, even in developed countries, whose carbon footprints are far smaller. www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/nov/01/polluting-elite-enormous-carbon-dioxide-emissions-gap-between-poorest-autonomy-study?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I think our overlords from China to America have already decided that a world without them in charge will not exist. They don't want to do anything about man-made climate change, they never have, and never will, even though they will go down with the rest of us. They and their sheep publics have been warned for decades and decades and decades.
In private they are still whining about "green loonies". Honestly, even now.
Of course they deeply resent having to address the issue, bitter that they have to even acknowledge a shared humanity with people they despise (us) they know it is an issue that they absolutely cannot avoid and this puzzles them as they are so used to just ignoring problems and not having to deal with the consequences.
I don't have any answers I'm not an expert. But clearly , something has to be done.
There are still vast amounts of people who think it's a chance worth taking - to do nothing.
