I don't remember ever hearing the album that came out on CBS The Cortinas – True Romances (1978)
Is it any good?

This is track two and it suggests they'd mellowed somewhat after those two great singles...
The Cortinas - I Don't Really Want to Get Involved (1978)

The first Punk band from my neck of the woods, to get upto that there London Village. School Kids with a love of Feelgoods...ish R'n'B. Fave song for me is Defiant Pose. The band had already split up by the time the album came out... even the band themselves didn't like it much but hearing it now, it's not that bad really, quite enjoyable... but more Power Pop than Punk. Um... haven't we discussed The Cortinas on here already?

Thanks Andy I knew you'd be all over it being a Bristol lad I couldn't find an existing thread but the search function isn't the greatest on here I'll have a proper look and, if so, I'll merge!

Um... haven't we discussed The Cortinas on here already? I couldn't find a thread The only reference I could find was this in the Punk Nuggets discussion... ...The Pigs reformed about 10 years ago and played a couple of gigs in Bristol... including 2 with my band. The second one, we were both on the bill with The Lurkers. As teenagers they had a manic scratchy sound but as older guys they were more mid-tempo R'N'B ...kinda like The Cortinas and The Feelgoods

I don't remember Andy (but that's not saying much) The Anthology goes for about £25 as a second hand CD but a download is available for £8

There's an unofficial CDR called For Fucks Sake Plymouth recorded live in 1977. There used to be a free download on the Die or DIY website but the link doesn't work for me anymore.

...that got released officially by Bristol Archive Records too. Not great quality sound, to be honest. The Bristol Punk band that tends to get overlooked alot is The X-Certs. They had a track on the Avon Calling compilation. A Peelie favourite. Bristol Archive Records released this album that mops up most of their best recordings.

Here is some great... but slightly bonkers archive footage of The Cortinas playing at The Roxy. The footage is at double speed for the first half for some reason. Interesting Mick Jones interview fades in towards the end.
