While I'm not interested in Clarkson, is what he said that bad? He's a 62 year old man in the public eye who demands attention by provocation.
He writes for the right-wing Sun newspaper and hob-nobs with the type of people that I wouldn't give the steam off my piss to, e.g. Cameron.
IMO his vitriol was unwarranted and greatly exaggerated, but I'm sure it appealed to it's intended audience...
He's a tool.

A cynic might say he's working hand in hand with the people who want to shut down free speech, outlaw offensive jokes etc.
You can never be too suspicious of people's aims and agendas nowadays, look at Liedon for example.

What has changed? Augustus Gloop, from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is now described as "enormous", with the word "fat" removed from every book, according to the Telegraph Mrs Twit, from the Twits, is no longer "ugly and beastly", but simply "beastly" In the same book, "a weird African language" is no longer weird The words "crazy" and "mad" have also been removed as a result of an emphasis on mental health, the newspaper reported A threat to "knock her flat" in Matilda has become "give her a right talking to" References to colours have also been changed - the BFG's coat is no longer black; while Mary in The BFG now goes "still as a statue" instead of "white as a sheet"Dunno how I feel about this I suppose on the one hand it is progress but on the other it does all feel unnecessary and overly protective of whoever might be offended or triggered What about you?

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67813689At first I thought , it's a joke , so what. Then I remembered he's home secretary. If you are going to tell edgy jokes make sure you're not surrounded by snitches.

Not sure they know the meaning of the word "ironic", what's ironic about it?

Possible irony here that only a week ago, Cleverly announced a raft of measures to help the police dealing with spiking crime in clubs and pubs.

Possible irony here that only a week ago, Cleverly announced a raft of measures to help the police dealing with spiking crime in clubs and pubs. Similar thing happened over here to an acquaintance of mine, Juan (which is a common Manx name and is pronounced phonetically, not the Spanish way), when he was Home Affairs Minister. Days after announcing a campaign to tackle antisocial behaviour on buses, he travelled home by bus after a party and ended up throwing up. Since then, he has been known to everybody on the island as "spewin' Juan".
