There is a growing expectation that some of GB News’s current presenters could face the chop, with Frangopoulos interested in putting rightwing YouTubers on air instead, staff at the station believe. Really can't believe there's much of a market for a more extreme right wing TV station This bit of the article speaks volumes.... Andrew Neil ultimately agreed to walk away without any money in order to get out of the channel, it is understood. The article also states... Viewing figures, emailed around the GB News office every morning, are a constant source of despair, although Farage is performing relatively well in the evenings and the channel continues to push its online offering. However, staff morale remains low, with Frangopolous said to be increasingly bothered by leaks to the press.
“The rightwing Fox News channel [approach] isn’t working and won’t work, [some] presenters are stupid and badly informed, and it wasn’t the right strategy for the channel,” said one individual with knowledge of the channel’s workings.

I don’t think U.K. right-wingers are quite as obsessed to the point they want all of their information to be fed to them with an ideological slant. In America there are openly far-right news networks (OANN springs to mind) and openly far-right conspiracy spreaders in government whereas I’m not sure we have that here.

It was only through bad luck (for them) that Murdoch was unable to get the Tories to overturn the television news "balanced" rules. This is why GB News is nearly all "opinion" shows where they can spout the biased stuff. Taking on Farage and doubling down on the right wing rhetoric will appeal to a large demographic in the UK. Whether they are a big enough group to survive the next year though I very much doubt. Far left people are proud of their beliefs, the far right know how toxic they are and lurk under the skin of the "oh, it's not about race, it's about sovereignty" crowd.

Ye, a lot of right-wing commentators have huge victim complexes and almost seem to want to force people to like them whereas the communists at Novara Media generally get to enjoy their mainstream appeal.

That level of harrasment is unreal Medieval as Prof Stock describes it Whatever happened to reasoned debate, listening to others, agreeing to disagree etc.

Some on the left are becoming the very fascists they profess to despise.

Some on the left are becoming the very fascists they profess to despise. I'm not even sure the left and right labels have much meaning any more - certainly at the extremes it's hard to tell one from the other

Seemed like a few years ago a lot of leftists would lean in to far-right conspiracy theories as well.

You don't like a particular comedians material, you don't watch it.
