Love those Jacques Dutronc tunes - got a great comp of his stuff. Superb
How about this unusual and very psych version of Baby Please Don't Go (Them, Amboy Dukes etc)....
It's on the wonderful Where the Action Is! Los Angeles Nuggets 1965-1968 comp

Has anyone come across... The Third Rail and their one and only LP ID Music It's a curious mix of Psych and Bubblegum - pretty bonkers too but in a good way
I'm a big fan
This was one of their more sane sounding singles about the perils of the rat race and it's brilliant...

'Run Run Run' is another classic Nugget i first heard via 'Nuggets' ...and yes, the lyrics are awash with black humour. Not heard the complete album though.
This is another cut from that legendary compilation. 'Mouse does Dylan' rather well here...

Yeah, complete Dylan lift. Another bunch of copyists on that album, New Jersey does Merseyside. Lennon on first hearing this said ' I don't remember recording this'. Still a great little tune though.

^ The Ballroom's reworking of "Baby Please Don't Go" is pretty radical.
Sydney band The Throb did a major, less-radical, but very effective, reworking of the English folk song "Black (Is the Colour of My True Love's Hair)" in 1966, calling it simply "Black", as indeed it is.

Teddy Robin & The Playboys from Hong Kong released a version of this song in 1966, but decided to do it again the following year, calling it 'Lies '67'. Great version; it seems a bit faster and has lashings of fuzz guitar. It sounds less like The Beatles with each reworking.

Best garage punk record (33 or 45) made between 1965-67, not including Seeds, Elevators, Sonics, Prunes?
Gots to be 96 tears or Psychotic Reaction?
Unless you know different?

I've got a few of those Diggin for Gold collections in. Not as consistent as Nuggets, a few tracks best left undiscovered but some right gems on there. This from 65.
