UK Subs

This was quite prevalent in North Yorkshire pre pandemic. It was not just random acts of breaking into the band's van but premeditated, organised theft. Known acts (who would have high end gear) were systematically followed and targeted from the venue to their hotel. Then in the small hours the unattended van would be forced into. Neil Newton of the Upstarts had his Gibsons taken in this manner. We used to insist that the band leave their gear at our venue overnight and collect it in the morning before they moved on to the next town.

I look back and smile at an incident from years ago when we put on an amateur battle of the bands in Lincoln. At the end of the evening the soundman and I both asked each other where had they put the microphones from the now empty stands. Some light fingered fucker had taken to the stage and unplugged three Shure SM58's, over £200 worth. I have never let another member of the audience on the stage ever since.

The Subs are playing here on the 10th of June. I hope their sound is a lot more authentic that the 'Scotland Calling.

Mind you as long as they play 'Limo Life I'll be happy 😊. 

GBH can still belt out a good show especially in a smaller venue.

Last time I saw them they disappeared behind a wall of spikey tops and mohicans.👍
