I would watch the Scottish News occasionally or buy the Glasgow Evening Times just to see what the city news is.
Other than that..

Find a simple hobby that you can pick up or put down anytime you like. Something that indulges your creative needs but isn't intensively demanding. You don't even have to be good at it. Portable is good so that you can do it anywhere - preferably outdoors.
Maybe...
Photography - use a digital camera or phone, take pictures of what interests you - weather, nature, gigs, architecture, graffiti or whatever. Set up an online account where you can upload your photo's and enjoy them and maybe share them with others.
Drawing - I have a couple of small drawing books and a tin of coloured pencils and if the mood takes me I can draw something that I see or whatever is on my mind. I use a lot of artistic licence, have no training and am under no illusion that I have any artistic talent whatsoever, however, when I do a drawing I bloody well enjoy it.
Maybe we need to hive this off into a Wellbeing thread, LE?

Absolutely DM👍
My brother has been drawing since he was a wee boy and his output is still incredible. I can draw but I don't have the passion for it and it is a passion for artists.
He also designs and makes Celtic walking sticks for hikers.
I'm more of a writer which is another reason why I started posting again.
He also did a couple of record covers for bands in the mid 80's.

The system crushes people. They take it out on people around them. I see it every day. Selfishness, callousness, anti social behaviour.

Stu, you find so many amazing things which you share here and I really appreciate it Life is hard but there also so much good stuff to enjoy too Try to focus on that and - as dm says - avoid the bollocks More music and less depressing news - sometines it's the only way to survive Not "avoid" "never mind" surely?

A lot struggle with basic literacy and numeracy. They can be be moulded and shaped by the ruling classes in any way they want. The real problem is that any working class cultural renaissance is a long way off as there are no progressive ideas to build around. What 'Partygate'displayed to me is that the Tories KNOW there's nothing to fear from Covid. It's being used as a weapon of social and economic control. The structural changes in some parts of the NHS were long in place to pre-determine what the response to Covid should be and this came straight from the top. Covid wasn't random.

Yes and during a so called'national emergency they have no hesitation in doing so. Why should we be surprised at this?

What surprises me is the complete lack of shame when caught out And the unwillingness to leave office No wonder people are so cynical about politics now Back in the day a politician would resign in these circumstances

How many times have individuals within theTories and Labour been rocked with scandal only to be put out to pasture for a while then brought back? A lot of people will support them regardless and of course there's the Ukraine War which is always a convenient'distraction' to use despite the fact that up until 6 weeks ago the majority of British people didn't even know where the fuck Ukraine was. They would have used Covid as the main the distraction but oh that's right they were caught breaking their own rules. Until people realise that there can be no common cause with these horrible bastards nothing will change.

Spot on.
If any of these twats were your manager in a commercial enterprise then you'd have to leave and find a new job. There is no reasoning with them, they know no shame.
Toilets - the lot of 'em.

We should never expect them to do the right thing as it's beyond their comprehension. They wouldn't think twice about starting illegal wars and killing innocent people(which they have)and then they go and lecture us about the likes of people like Putin!? Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

Reading the Manchester Evening News website several times a day is enough to make anyone vomit at the poor excuses for humanity that live among us.
Today for instance:
*Woman mauled by dog not on lead (this is regular and makes me absolutely furious) *Woman leaves job to make £100,000 a year on OnlyFans (good luck to her but these people are laughing at those who have to do real work for fuck all)
Regularly there are stories about cockroaches beating up their girlfriends who of course they psychologically abuse and control.
It seems increasingly like you have to be a complete c*** to survive in this world.

Horrible stories I strongly recommend you stay away from that website though It sounds as though they have an agenda to promote the awful stuff that happens and ignore the good things Try this for a different take on the world... justgivemepositivenews.com/
