The Sex Beatles! Bizarre punk pop from Mallorca. The singer hailed from Scotland and would later become a DJ and producer of Samantha Fox. Interesting blog on being in a punk band in Franco's fascist Spain www.charlesmarlow.com/blog/tag/sex-beatles/

I take it that it's Bethnal, lol. Had an album in by Charlie not so long back, fucking rubbish. Cherry Vanilla played the Sandpiper, bog standard rock, nothing to do with the new wave, she just got kudos by knowing Warhol and Bowie. Further down the page is a hard rock band called Nutz, saw them supporting Sabbath and thought they were pretty decent, thought they would have made it into the NWOBHM but can't recall them after 1979. Right down the list is Buzzcocks, that would be the one for me on their home turf.

I'm sure my Granny and her sister were at that Dubliners gig.
Look how ridiculously cheap gigs were compared to now.🤔
Jack Jones for £1.50?!Straight from Vegas to Glasgow😄

It's all relative but gigs are completely overpriced these days.
Says a lot about the modern world and it's attitude to music. It's driven for cash not creativity.
The Apollo was some place. My mother used to go to it when it was the Empire.

The above thread about the Apollo got me thinking about the Empire and the people my mum saw there.
To name a few;
Tommy Steele Lonnie Donegan Cliff Richard
...and if my memory serves me correctly Tony Hancock.😃

Some real forgotten in five minutes wonders there, Tortoise, My Life Story etc. Morrissey for me, he was still sane in 1997 and turning out some great tunes.
