Lemmy understood what made The Ramones so good. Think Lemmy had a bottle of Jack too many when he wrote that Andy

Lou seemed like a nice guy but he had cloth ears. Surely'Transformer' had to be one of the worst records ever made. 👍

YEP Nigey... Lemmy even wrote a song about one of his all time favourite bands.

I didn't realise that was a Motorhead song having only heard the Ramones cover version of it Thanks Andy It's an education round here Yes Lemmy wrote it for Motorheads "1916" Although songs like the ballad "Love Me Forever" and "Angel City" (which includes a saxophone) were stylistic departures for the band, the album still contained Motörhead's ear-splitting brand of rock 'n' roll, including "I'm So Bad (Baby I Don't Care)" and "R.A.M.O.N.E.S," a tribute to punk band the Ramones, by whom it was covered. Both bands have been cited as iconoclasts who ignored musical trends, remaining loyal to their fan base by touring relentlessly. In the 2002 book Hey Ho Let's Go: The Story of the Ramones, Everett True quotes singer Joey Ramone as saying: "It was the ultimate honour – like John Lennon wrote a song for you."I have all The Ramones studio albums... and sure... the quality wasn't always consistent, but even a weak Ramones album has some nuggets on it. One of my favourite 'off the beaten' track Ramones albums is " Pleasant Dreams" produced by Graham Gouldmann from 10cc

Got to confess I've never heard that album Andy - but that track is a goodie, and no mistake
Graham Gouldmann from 10cc producing! Remarkable

Got to confess I've never heard that album Andy - but that track is a goodie, and no mistake Graham Gouldmann from 10cc producing! Remarkable ...Graham Gouldmann did get on too well with Johnny Ramone during the making of the album but... by then Johnny and Joey weren't either... still a great album though despite a rather naff sleeve. This is the best known song from Pleasant Dreams.

Ah yes, I know that one well. A classic. Johnny nicking Joey's partner - the swine.

Ramones are just shite, most people know it but are too scared to admit it Quite a claim I genuinely love them I seriously doubt there's many who just pretend to like them

I can understand people liking them because there was nothing else but the Pistols easily eclipsed them.
When I heard the first album in the late 70's I never liked it. I just didn't like the singing and to me it was all in the same idiom.
They've became so much of a sacred cow it's ridiculous.
I mean John Lydon is a wanker now but Johnny Ramone was always a wanker.
You're supposed to not say it but he was a right wing arsehole.

Johnny was also an unpleasant, nasty individual. Joey Ramone suffered with OCD and often had to do mundane tasks or actions very precisely.Example, when walking down steps, he would have to put an alternate foot on each step, often counting out loud. Johnny would go behind him and just before Joey got to the bottom, Johnny would give him a push, messing up his rhythm, so Joey had to go back to the top and start again.

The Ramones were awful and were never a punk band. They were the real bandwagon jumpers. Ramones discussion relocated
