I'm not getting much of a Ramones vibe off this Andy - just a computer generated racing car?! Thank you for taking a look all the same man. I had some pretty good reactions about that race and other Ramones races I made from people close to the band, and one member of the band too. I had a big smile on my face for days about that.

I must admit, as someone who seriously loves the Ramones, that I fucking hate Sheena Is a Punk Rocker. Does the casual British music fan think all the Ramones are is Sheena, Baby I Love You and perhaps Blitzkrieg Bop? Baby I Love You , was the song that got me into the Ramones, I loved Joey''s voice.I walked into a punk record shop not long after that song was out and I saw ,End Of The Century and that foto of them on the cover.I thought, "wow they look weird", I never looked back since. The Ramones inspired me to do art and fotografy too, I painted the shadow man from Pleasant dreams on my bedroom wall.I was lucky enough to get to see the Ramones 4 times, they were awesome. Maybe if, Baby I Love You never came out I would have never heard of the Ramones and got into art ?

Plain wrong 1976!First band to wear biker jackets First band to wear drainpipes with rips First band to start songs on their album with 1234... First band to construct songs around 2/3 chords First punk album They were one of the original punk bands, if not THE original punk band To suggest otherwise is just wrong You may not like them or rate them but that's a different matter They were an inspiration to the UK punk scene and their Roundhouse show in July 76 was an important milestone - the Clash, the Sex Pistols and the Damned were all in the audience Read all about it here, plus some great photos... flashbak.com/the-ramones-play-the-sleaziest-garage-ever-the-roundhouse-london-july-4-1976-369223/Isn't it a myth that the Clash and the Pistols were in the audience at the Roundhouse gig? They both played at the Black Swan in Sheffield on the 4th of July (The first live performance by the Clash). Both bands were present at the Dingwalls gig the next day

I'll let someone else answer your question - I'm not that level of knowledgeable When are those photos of Rotten, Simenon etc talking to the Brudders outside the Roundhouse taken? I though that was 1976. Seems a bit weird that they would be talking to members of both the Clash and the Pistols but then they'd not be in the audience?
But who knows? Perhaps they were hanging out and then hotfooted it up to Sheffield?
Or maybe those photos were before the 1977 Roundhouse gigs (the one with Talking Heads supporting)?

As the article above explains and the quote from Rat Scabies... "...you had to be there" The Ramones first ever UK was a really big deal, and all the movers and shakers in the early London scene and clued kids from beyond the capital were there... even people like Colin Newman from Wire.

I think that's Topper in one of the pictures and he joined the Clash in 1977 (of course he could have been at the Roundhouse gigs as a "hangaround"?)
