I thought Wham! were good. I have everything they did. Not many better songs than Everything She Wants and Careless Whisper. I think the more lightweight stuff had tongue firmly in cheek. Didn't outstay their welcome either.

Bull
Low budget, savagely violent Brit revenge thriller. Shares a slightly similar trajectory to Dead Man's Shoes. Not in that league of course (what is) but an effective piece of work all the same. 7/10

Ghostbusters:Afterlife
If you like the 80s original, then this will be for you. Old cast mixes with teens to take down super bad Monster.
One scene sees the kids do up the old GB estate car, cue wheel spinning and accompanying fast, aggressive musical tune....not Aerosmith or GnR but Buzzcocks Boredom. Devoto and Shelley's estate will be more than a few quid richer for that. 6/10

Top Boy back next Thursday
Dushane (Ashley Walters) knows the best criminals go straight at the first opportunity, but his one-time comrade Sully (Kane “Kano” Robinson) is determined to establish dominance. This friction defines the final season of the gripping gang drama. After killing Jamie, Sully is hellbent on elbowing his way past Dushane, but is he cool enough for leadership? A horrific introduction to the methods of a new heavy-duty Irish drugs connection, Jonny (a terrifying Barry Keoghan), looks set to test him. Top Boy continues to do a fine job of locating these brutal conflicts within the struggles of embattled communities – the gangster world is contextualised but never glamorised.
Netflix, from Thursday 7 September 2023

^^ One of the best drama series of the 21st century in my opinion. I will steel myself not to binge watch, taking in every episode at spaced intervals.

Top Boy episode 1. Brilliant viewing, not just Sully and Dushane's skullduggery but an excellent, on the streets, foray into the Windrush scandal as well. Best thing since Our Friends in the North.

I'm poised to start episode 5 of the final series of Top Boy
It's not looking good for Dushane and Sully right now
And Jacqui is having her own trials but perhaps there's a redemptive outcome for her?
It's so flipping good
That scene in the old people's home with the Irish was quite something
