Armando Iannuci's Death of Stalin is now on Netflix, great black comedy with a cast of Palin, Isaacs, Whitehouse, Considine and Buscemi. Well recommended.
Irishman as well obviously but the computer youthful face imaging takes a bit of getting used to.
And for World Cinema, the chino Shadow historical epic and Dragon, an oriental 19th Century kung fu mystery with a History of Violence type plot.

Watching De Niro give that store owner a hiding was kind of funny, like watching a 35-year old with the joint pain and manoeuvrability of a pensioner!

Yes and a bit where De Niro was climbing over some rocks by the beach, awkward. Surely a body double would have been better.
Gang of the Caribbean. Taut political crime thriller set in sixties France. Immigrant becomes embroiled in uprising against colonialism. Excellent.

I watched Uncut Gems over the weekend For most of it I was a bit unsure however, having finished and on reflection, I think it's pretty good. An extraordrinary central performance by Adam Sandler and an unusual, kinetic, memorable and original film that is well worth seeing. Exhausting but in a good way. Anyone else seen it? What did you make of it?

Exhausting was the operative word for me as well. Too frenetic and I only managed twenty minutes.
Spectral. Alien entity shoot em up. Diverting watch with the dreadful weather outside but nothing special.
The Night Comes For Us. Ultra violent Korean Triad thriller. Gives John Wick a run for its money.

I'm not suggesting for one moment you sit through two and a half hours of something you weren't enjoying but it really was quite surprising in the end. I watched it in installments. Spectral. Alien entity shoot em up. Diverting watch with the dreadful weather outside but nothing special. The Night Comes For Us. Ultra violent Korean Triad thriller. Gives John Wick a run for its money. Interesting - thanks

I got a haircut earlier and the person who cuts my hair told me that... The Stranger...is unmissable Should I trust her? I am not convinced our tastes converge that much however she was very adamant that I should watch it What do you, the young punks, say?

My sister recommended it, but it wasn't for me. Came across as one of those supposed dark BBC family dramas.
But don't listen to me. I've just binged out on Ash v Evil Dead series. Gore splatter, enjoyable nonsense.

Thansk PU, I suspect I might feel the same way
To be honest I'm suffering from an addiction to Talking Pictures TV, interspersed with Budgie, The Sweeney and Ace of Wands on DVD
Life doesn't get any better
Though me and the missus will doubtless share a bit of the new season of Better Call Saul

Money Heist Spanish bank robbery with assorted quirky characters. First episode pretty riveting though apparently there are twenty more after this, not sure how that'll pan out.
Spenser Confidential. Wrongly convicted cop leaves prison and investigates major corruption. By the numbers thriller.
Ultras. Napoli football hooligans young and old battle rivals, cops and themselves. Far better than the Danny Dyer the Brits serve up.

Thanks PU - sounds good, esp the Ultras thing
I recently watched American Vandal - both seasons - I'm loathe to recommend it because I don't know how much it might appeal to others but I thought it was genuinely quite funny
I've just started watching Jack Whitehall and his Dad in America - Travels With My Dad (?)
Again, not a recommendation but it has already made me laugh - so it might do the same for you

Back to the Napoli ultras - I'm also about halfway through Diego Maradona which is currently on All4
Those Neapolitans certainly love their footie - and seem to be despised/disparaged across Italy
It's a fascinating doc too
