Crack
Documentary on the rise of crack cocaine spanning the eighties and nineties. From being a wealthy white recreational pastime to ravaging poor black neighborhoods. An indictment of the incompetent administrations and the illegal Iran/Contra arms sales.
Very good indeed.

V Wars
Kinda like Z Nation only with Vampires.
Two scientists in Antartica catch a'bug' in the ice and both come back none the wiser until one night one of them develops an insatiable hunger that a midnight visit to the local 24 hour deli won't satisfy so he decides to go a bit feral and is never seen again....or so it seems.
Ridiculous lo-fi production values and a corny concept with a bizarrely over complicated script which pits humans and 'bloods' against each other in 21st century California.
So ludicrous that the vampires have conferences and send delegates to a 'Bloods' get together to decide the future direction of the movement!
Only thing that was missing was lanyards and cucumber sandwiches!
Complete nonsense but like Z Nation, completely and oddly captivating.
8/10

Narcos
Has somebody mentioned this before? Can't find it.
Recap. Dramatisation of Columbia drug gangs and the DEA who try to take them down. The portrayal of Pablo Escobar is fantastic. Excellent fare for these endless lockdown days.

Just started Lupin So far it's very entertaining Lupin is a French mystery thriller streaming television series created by George Kay and François Uzan that premiered on Netflix on 8 January 2021. The series consists of 10 episodes, released in two parts.
The show stars Omar Sy in the role of Assane Diop, a man who is inspired by the adventures of master thief Arsène Lupin, a character created by Maurice Leblanc in the early 1900s. The first part, consisting of five episodes, is subtitled Dans L'Ombre D'Arsène (In the Shadow of Arsène), referring to the primary character's inspiration.
The second set of five episodes, already filmed by the end of 2020, is slated to be released in mid-2021.

The Art of Self Defence
Jessie Eissenberg and Imogen Poots star in a black comedy tale of a picked on nerd who takes up karate. Dark and low key with several real surprises in the plot. If you liked Fight Club this will be for you.

Message From The King
Decent thriller. South African taxi driver visits seedy LA to investigate the disappearance of his sister. Well plotted with a few twists and turns.
