I sat through the Chelsea Porto game last night. Dreadful affair but Tuchel got the job done. Outside bet for the trophy.

City shaky for the first 20 minutes but then they clicked into gear. Foden could be in the Messi / Ronaldo bracket in a few years. Fancy all English final myself.

You could well be right. Often such fine margins in these ties

Can’t see Chelsea getting past Real.As for the other tie, think Man City could scrape through.Real to win it.Wouldn’t put money on it though.

Even without Aubameyang and Tierney, Arsenal tore Slavia apart. It's a failure to maintain that level though that has been their downfall and ex boss Emery will know where their weaknesses are.

Arsenal are such a difficult team to judge for the past few years, performances and consistency are all over the place, Luiz can at times make you think he should be wearing a clowns costume. I'd rip it down and start again, new boss and change half the squad.

There's so much great talent coming through Last night was one of those games where it all comes together and the shackles were well and truly off... For all their weaknesses if Arsenal beat Villarreal in the Europa League semi-finals they will reach a fifth cup final in as many years, or a seventh in eight years #cupkings

Arsenal fans should remember maybe when they were screaming for the head of the man who kept them in the top 4 for 20 years. Maybe they never recovered from building the Emirates and I always thought losing David Dein was a mistake.

All good points Doug although it was Dein who brought in (and sold out to) Stan Kroenke a man who takes little interest in the fortunes of the club but takes out "consultancy fees" etc
At the time the Emirates was built the board had no idea about the huge increase in TV revenue coming down the line. I identify leaving Highbury as the moment things changed. As you say, big debts plus leaving the spiritual home for a souless modern stadium
Then again, Abramovich and Abu Dhabi's bottomless pockets also changed the landscape so that there was no need to be self sustaining anymore for Chelsea and City.
I had a season ticket at Highbury for over 10 years and was lucky to be there during the Wenger era (Highbury years)
I have only been to the Emirates once in my life. I hated it. At the time a friend was happy to take over my season ticket and I was happy to hand it over having relocated to Brighton and just started a family.

^^ All the European FAs have come out against it. UEFA are stating that any player involved in a breakaway league will not be allowed to represent their country.
