Seriously, in these incredible uncertain times, he wants people to contribute to save an almost forgotten moniker and where the money will end up in the grubby hands of solicitors. Beirut disaster relief is prolly a bit more pressing need if one were feeling charitable True dat
I've just noticed that, as is the moderne way, there's a three disc version of Do It Dog Style due to land on 20 September 2020 and released by Captain Oi/Cherry Red
Yours for £17
Anyone tempted?
This is a 3CD expanded version of the debut album by Punk legends… and Wythenshawe’s finest, Slaughter And The Dogs.
• They supported the Sex Pistols in the summer of 1976, at the very beginning of the Punk revolution, and were one of the first wave of Punk bands.
• Disc 1 is the 12 track debut LP, originally released in 1978, and containing the singles ‘Where Have All The Boot Boys Gone’, ‘Dame To Blame’ and ‘Quick Joey Small (Run Joey Run)’.
• The second disc has 19 non LP cuts including their debut 45 ‘Cranked Up Really High’, plus their contribution to the seminal ‘Live At The Roxy’ LP, non LP B-sides, the scarce ‘It’s Alright’ EP and studio demos.
• The final disc is the frantic “Live Slaughter Rabid Dogs” LP, recorded in May 1977.
• The booklet contains detailed liner notes, pictures of all relevant sleeves plus lots of memorabilia and clippings from the era.

That is very tempting considering even a second hand cd copy of the album goes for about a tenner. Last original vinyl press I saw of Dog Style was £50 and only average condition.
I recall an anecdote that turned up in the Mick Ronson bio, The Spider With The Platinum Hair. Can't remember it word for word but goes something like: Ronno is producing Slaughters debut album and is talking all thing guitars with Rossi. Rossi starts asking how Ronson managed to those get certain sounds. Ronno mentions a particular FX pedal and says here's a spare one I've got, take it.
Rossi goes home with pedal, tries it out, nothing. Thinks Ronson must be a genius. Turns up to the studio next day and says to Ronno, I just can't get that sound at all. You did put a battery in it, didn't you, asks Ronno.

This one of the great 'lost' Slaughter songs, that really should have been a hit. Just a perfect Rock'n'Roll classic...

Mystery of our times, why they didn't have any 'chart hits'. Boot Boys probably too aggressive for the Noel Edmonds and DLT playlists, Dame To Blame too electric maybe but their version of the Frankie Valli stomper You're Ready Now should have been massive, would have filled the floors of youth club discos up and down the land.

The Cambridge Rapist in the crowd there. Try doing that today at a Little Mix show, political correctness gone mad,

Just reminding myself how much I love Cranked Up Really High Here's an interesting live version at the Roxy in 1977... ...and here's the recorded version... On my first new wave trip to London back in the summer of 77 I saw that clip (it was in Don Letts' film) at the ICA, loved that gag Barrett did with the talcum powder. Wayne County was sat in the row behind me and kicked up a fuss when his clip came on. The following day I sought out the single and got it from a record shop somewhere in W12 The shop assistant had a dog collar on, came out from behind the counter, played it really loud before I bought it and made me pogo with him to the 'La la la la la' bit.

That's pretty pathetic. The trademark squabble. They're hardly Pink Floyd or UB40 are they ?
There are a few unpleasant references to them in Paul Morley's book Nothing.
Why is every other person's life these days consumed with so much drama??

The latest artist to release an album created during lockdown is Mick Rossi. Like many people, the lockdown has provided Mick with a period of self-reflection
100% of the profits from the first 200 pressings of “All the Saints and All the Souls” will be donated to the front-line workers of the NHS in Manchester
Geddit here...
Here's Hang On which is surprisingly restrained and rather lovely with shades of Bowie....

This one of the great 'lost' Slaughter songs, that really should have been a hit. Just a perfect Rock'n'Roll classic... Do you have the album it comes from Andy? The Slaughterhouse TapesAccording to their Bandcamp page... Killer compilation of rare tracks from one of the UK’s most legendary punk acts, Slaughter & The Dogs! Includes the original version of the punk rock classic “Situations” plus superb live versions of “Where Have All The Bootboys Gone?,” “Cranked Up Really High” and more!
