Raising Sand is a brilliant album, it far transcends just being labelled bluegrass. Looking forward to the new one though the original Lucinda Williams Can't Let Go can never be bettered. Raising Sand is a good record - haven't listened to it in years. Must give it a spin over the weekend

The people it is aimed at (myself included) will eat it up though, and the running time is hardly long, perhaps reviewers have limited attention span these days. The great thing about Zep is that so much was filmed thanks to Page and Grant's great foresight of their legacy. You compare with Peter Gabriel's Genesis and there's hardly anything, just a bit of a French TV show and a fake short live gig in front of cardboard cutouts. It's even taken fan work for the Genesis stuff to get into the public domain in HD. Wish more bands had fimed their early 70's output.

The best Zep book I've read is Mick Wall's When Giants Walked the Earth It has a great deal of info about the Crowley and occult stuff which I found fascinating

the second Robert Plant and Alison Krauss album is out now
Only had one play so far but sounds every bit as good as the first one

Not as earthy as Raising Sand, slightly over produced and polished so it loses that real bluegrass feel, the track Price of Love being a case in point, Krauss's vocal could be anyone. Their cover of Lucinda William's Can't Let Go is very flat doing such a disservice to a great song. It's a good album but has been hyped up too much imo.

Bloody hell, there's some airbrushing going on there.

Plant's wearing a bit better than Page though, Jimmy looks like an public information film on the dangers of Botox.
Oh a bit pedantic but Zeppelin is one L not two.
