This is the bollocks.
Some old, some not so old and some new!
Some of these are the best punk records ever made.

MDC were the epitome of American hardcore.
Brave and Intelligent.

For me this is the best UK hardcore punk EP ever.
Incredible up loud and they could knock it out live too.

Even though it's quite generic Gas Rag still have the intelligence to twist it.

Not really hardcore speed wise but the lyrics definitely were.
Crucifucks were perhaps one of he most unique punk bands the US ever produced as understated by this song!

I've listened to them Rogue. Here's a few musings....
BGK - Shouty and a bit boring (only listened to first tune and bit of second...) MDC - See above Potential Threat - Turned up loud as advised (quickly turned back down). Flipping racket. Worst one so far (which is saying something) Bad Brains - This is a lot better. A lot more going on than the previous three. I'd even go so far as to say it's quite nuanced. Streets ahead of the other vids. Gas Rag - Oh dear. Another discordant racket - got bored after two mins so might have turned into something very different. Somehow doubt it though. Sort of thing I imagine the Americans playing at Guantanemo to torture the inmates crucifucks - A lot more interesting. Maybe even up to Bad Brains levels of interesting. Extra kudos because the singer isn't growling at 100 mph so the lyrics are discernible. And, what's that? A bit of melody. Ooooh. Original. Actually really like this one.
Even went to find out more about crucifucks... Curious factoid about vocalist Doc Corbin Dart... As recently as 2006, Dart has begun identifying himself by the name 26 (dropping his entire given name of Doc Corbin Dart) and renounces swear words, such as his former group's moniker

Rather you than me. I'll just dismiss them out of hand, with the possible exception of Bad Brains who IIRC pre-dated all that hardcore dross... weren't they the first black punk group or something?

For me The Bad Brains ROIR Tapes album is THE definitive Hardcore statement... nothing else, including their own later records even comes close in terms of lightening strike energy ...even when they slowed the tempo down, it's still mind blowing. Jimi Hendrix would have loved the Bad Brains if he hadn't checked out 10 years before...

Yeah i agree the last one was the best.Sorry not a big fan of Hardcore. The lyrics are a big part of this genre i.e.very political but for the most part the lyrics are indecipherable. What would you say is the difference between UK Hardcore and US Hardcore?

I recall we discussed Death on the old forum. An interesting story...

...yes, we did discuss them on the old TalkPunk Forum. The Documentary on Death is fascinating and rather sad. The driving force behind the band, of the three brothers, was their guitarist David Hackney.
Sadly he died before there music finally got the recognition it deserved, decades later. It's astonishing to think, this was recorded in 1975...

Who would have thought that on a punk rock forum? Punks shouting and making a noise?π€©π Why are you so narrow minded and conservative?π€ Crucifucks are wonderful. Both their self titled debut and 'Wisconsin' albums are two of the most played records in my collection.π A lot of their lyrics revolve around hating the cops so Zeo would love themπ
