Seeing as we seem to be discussing all the seventies behemoths it feels remiss not to have a discussion about...
The Greatest Rock n Roll Band in the World (TM)
The Rolling Stones
What's yer verdict?
Love em? Hate em? Somewhere in between?
Favourite songs?
Favourite albums?

What more reason do we need to remind ourselves of the genius of Mick & Keith's Corner Shop...

So many amazing Stones songs to choose from, in so many different moods. They were/are as creative as The Beatles but don't always get the credit for it. This could have been released in the early 90s and would have sounded totally of the moment...

I spent a lot of the 90’s listening to their back catalogue.Saw them a couple of times at Main Road and Wembley. Not a fan of these stadium gigs though, they’re just dots on the horizon and you end up watching the screens.I love all their 60’s & 70’s output and there’s been some good stuff since then.Wouldn’t recommend anything from the mid to late 80’s though.Improved a bit in the 90’s with Voodoo Lounge but they’ll never be as good as they were in the 70’s.

“Paint it Black” was about as good as it gets It's certainly a magnificent song I'd say there's plenty more of a similar standard in their catalogue though, esp from the late 60s/early 70s

The Kinks were the 3rd best* UK beat group after the Beatles and the Who My favourite number by them *A strong case could also be made for the Small Faces... too close to call? I was just going to ask "What about the Stones?" and post it here, and then I read your earlier post above So, not keen then?
