Aswell as Sham with George Davis there was TRB with George Ince. Any other punk / new wave songs campaigning for the release of prisoners? The Last Resort with Johnny Barden. Very dodgy too. Not exactly the same, but certainly not dissimilar, was the story of Wally Hope, which was heavily featured in the insert to Crass' "Christ, the album" and further articles and a book by Penny Rimbaud.

I saw Sham about 7 years ago for the first and only time and must admit it was enormously enjoyable

I think the Wally Hope story by Rimbaud was more about how the State can kill an innocent man they believed to be a threat without any chance of them being held to account.
Not unusual and not surprising unfortunately.

Lonely Man of Spandau by the Upstarts is an appeal for the release of Rudolf Hess. Not a 'he's got a shooter ' merchant from Laaandan but a war criminal apparently.

That looks like a swastika t-shirt Jones has on.
Wonder where they going?

that t shirt hasn 't aged well . Doesn't do Sham's 'anti-nazi' claims any good if Jones was wearing a swastika t-shirt as part of their entourage😄 I love Steve Jones reminisces of the 'Sham Pistols'. He said that Pursey kept crying all the time and was always coming over to them looking for a cuddle😄
