Very painful.
I had bruised ribs after dancing to the Donegal band 'Goats Don't Shave'when they played King Tuts in the 90's.
(That'pit' was worse than any hardcore gig I've been to by the way)
Basically untreatable. I just couldn't move for a week and breathing was complete agony.
Should have won a suit of armour.

Same here, the only positive is enjoying re watching films and rereading books as I rarely remember them. Sounds a bit alarming I forget a lot but can usually remember what I've watched or read in the recent past - or indeed back in the day My latest ailment is a cracked rib. Tripped over a root going downhill in some woods and landed really heavily on my left hand side. Agony to take deep breaths and a variety of other every day activities. I did this a few decades ago stagediving and seem to remember it took about a month to get better I don't forget the whole thing, just tend to go "oh, yes" after I have rewatched it, so can get the enjoyment of it again, It's not like watching The Sixth sense and forgetting you know what (no spoilers here) Just being vague on conclusions. I broke a couple or ribs from and back when pissed and fell into a tree when taking a piss about 30 years ago, never had pain like it, took about 20 minutes to get from bed to toilet each time (about 10 feet) Didn't go to hospital as they do nothing, just wrapped myself in a sheet tightly and waited it out. Didn't leave home for a month or two and still get the odd twinge. Must have healed weirdly. Ah, the follies of youth.

Wow. Whilst I can run and breathing is uncomfortable it's small beer compared with that story Doug - I think I'm also in a better place than Rogue following Goats Don't Shave. I managed to do a 40 minute cycle which was painful over bumps and holes in the road but otherwise was fine so long as I didn't get out of breath

I seem to get Norovirus every 18 months or so. I'm currently laid up with it and so missed the United Liverpool game. 😵 I have to take Lansoprazole daily and have done for four years now.

Think I've got arthritis in both hands.
I read last week that Lydon's eyesight is in rapid decline. I'd be wanting the Dignitas treatment if I lost my sight.

I've had arthritis in one hip for years now. It's a constant throbbing pain, but it is usually only annoying if I think about it

Been diagnosed with arthritis in both hips after coming a cropper on the bike a month ago.
However, it's quite mild and age related. Doesn't prevent me going to the gym and swimming 3 times a week however.
Just getting on. Mind of the days you could skip over a fence but now you have to walk to the gate....🤣

Been on Lansaprozole for about 15 years and I have to take 1 tablet every day but it usually does the trick. I thought it was an ulcer due to all the boozing I did in the 80's and 90's but got the all clear so keep the drinking down to just the two bottles of Scotch a day.

Never heard of Lansoprazole
NHS website sez...
Lansoprazole reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes. It's used for indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux and gastroesophageal-reflux-disease (GORD). Lansoprazole is also taken to prevent and treat stomach ulcers.
I always assumed that stuff (indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux etc) was related to diet
Have I got that wrong?

I suffered from chronic diarrhea and sickness monthly for about 2 years, they had me on lanszprozole 1 tablet a day which did no good. Had a camera up the arse and down the throat ( not to be recommended) and they said I had a hiatal hernia, doubled up the lansaprozole to 2 a day and had just one bout in 18 months now. Does work, stops the stomach getting inflamed.

I suspect my problems in that area are related to how much tea I drink and the fact I have snacks before bed.

Losing weight obviously helps and having a balanced diet can alleviate all the above symptoms. Like I said I thought it was the drink but my stomach was producing too much acid in order to digest food so a quick change of diet and less alcohol helped. However, because Lansaprozole is a bit of a wonder drug it becomes as regular as brushing your teeth. Without it the pain and discomfort was giving me sleepless nights....
