The Leftovers - Cigarettes and Alcohol [Brisbane, 1979]
According to discogs this song comes complete with piano and saxophone.
I can hear some very intricate and innovative piano lurking in the back of the mix, but the sax eludes me. Can anybody spot it?

More of a clagnut than nugget. Turned up in the shop yesterday, who remembers it? Got loads of Radio One airplay before the (not very funny) joke was exposed.

More of a clagnut than nugget. Turned up in the shop yesterday, who remembers it? Got loads of Radio One airplay before the (not very funny) joke was exposed. It was Mike Read the DJ wasn't it? Even sounds like his old R1 jingle Eddie Piller, in the book I mention elsewhere, said he sold Read loads of old soul singles from a record stall he briefly ran in Kensington Market. Piller himself got his stock from old junk shops in the East End. Apparently Read is (at least was) a v serious collector and soul music obsessive.

I never had a problem with Mike Read, apparently the Frankie stuff was all wrong and out of context..dunno if that's true or not....if it was true it secured them top spot regardless. No Mike Read always championed the Icicle Works..so I have to give him respect for that.
