this song almost became an actual “Nugget.” Lenny Kaye had been asked to compile punk rock sides for a new edition of Nuggets that featured bands from the 76/77 punk explosion. Ultimately the project was canned, but this song was chosen to be on the release.

I did ask Lenny about it but I don't think he remembered either. The guys in the Victims brought copies to Bleecker Bobs where Lenny worked, and Lenny was the first person to take copies in any store. The Victims would rehearse in Lodi, where the Misfits all came from. The Victims had their shit together a little earlier than the Misfits and were already good friends with Peter Crowley who booked at Max's Kansas City. The Victims told Peter to book the Misfits at Max's for the first time. I'm assuming that's why Danzig released a Victims 7" on his label in return.

i chat online with Steve Berman from the Victims, a nice guy. They reformed about 10 years ago and released a really good new album.
This is gem from their first album...

Did 'Moet the Poet' ever do anything else other than the Mortarhate compilation?🤔

Not the thrash metal band who stole their name but the band that were on Crass records on the early 80's. An overlooked gem.
