There's probably something worth seeing if you avoid the straight pap on the big stages but Glasto has never been my bag TBH. I hope your daughter has a good one, Nigey.

She can't fail
As you know the line up goes on forever (see above)
There's an insane selection of stuff
You could stay there a year and still only enjoy a fraction of the stuff

Ridiculous number of acts listed as appearing at the same event. I gave up skimming through the list not even half way through. Who would I see? Masses of names I have never heard of. Only one act I noticed I have ever seen before and would see again: JCC. I'd also look in on Amyl & The Sniffers, Undertones, Damned, PP Arnold, Wet Leg, Sleaford Mods and more. But I cannot imagine enjoying such a huge event. I'd rather see all the aforementioned in a pub somewhere. Could be a big barn-like pub, but not standing in a fuckin paddock with 50,000 other people

Some local good friends of mine are down there now, working in the admin side of staging the event. They have done this for decades. I also know people who will be doing a record stall there too. I went to Glastonbury once back in the early 90s - i remember Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine were the saturday night headliners, Tom Jones was on Sunday afternoon. i found the whole enormity of it quite daunting... just trying to find our modest tents after each long day was quite a task! Nowadays a tonnage of camping equipment gets left behind each year, by selfish rich kid entitled wankers. I'd hate to be rubbing shoulders with those kind of people.

Festivals used to be 'far out'.
Back in the day the freaks who went to Stonehenge free festival used to sneer at the straights who went to Glasto.
Most outdoor events since the passing of the Criminal Justice Bill are well-oiled bread-head operations designed to extract £££ from generic punters.

Does anyone still put on free festivals?
We had one in a park recently but that was just a few hours

Does anyone still put on free festivals? If they do they're clandestine out of necessity, as they were criminalised in 1994
