I've always found them pretentious and musically insipid.
Don't believe the hypeđ

Never liked Morrissey or his music, but I find this amusing. If he held extreme left-wing views â up to and including supporting murderous despots like Stalin and Castro â nobody would bat an eyelid, but some fairly mild statements opposing immigration and multiculturalism have led numerous commentators to behave like one's easily offended maiden aunt. Rule no. 1, know your market. I suspect Skrewdriver's audiences might have dwindled a bit if they had changed tack and advocated tolerance.

Morrissey confirms heâs been dropped from BMG as he hits out at record label for âdictating how artists should behaveâRead more: metro.co.uk/2020/11/16/morrissey-dropped-from-bmg-as-he-hits-out-at-record-label-13604824/?ito=cbshareAccording to Morrissey.... BMG have appointed a new Executive who does not want another Morrissey album. Instead, the new BMG Executive has announced new plans for âdiversityâ within BMGâs artist roster, and all projected BMG Morrissey releases/reissues have been scrapped. BMG... Morrissey had a three-album deal with the label that has now come to an end

They'll have to buy him out of his contract, so he'll be laughing all the way to the bank.
The same thing happened to Fairport Convention â they signed a six-album deal with Vertigo in the mid-to-late seventies, but the first two sold so poorly that Vertigo bought them out. The label offered ÂŁ30,000 so each member got ÂŁ7,500 â the first time they had ever made any real money out of their music, which enabled them to split up and do something else with their lives.

Morrissey announces new album Bonfire of the Teenagers Thanks Stu I like the cover Wonder how this highest bidder part will work out? Announced via the singerâs website, âBonfire Of Teenagersâ has 11 tracks, and was recently completed in Los Angeles. No release date has yet been announced.
âThe worst year of my life concludes with the best album of my life,â a quote from Morrissey states of the album.
Below its artwork and tracklisting, a further note reads: âMorrissey is unsigned. The album is available to the highest (or lowest) bidder.â

I think anyone who buys any of his so called music wants to look closely at their personal values.
By contributing financially to his income it gives him and his bigoted ideas the so called legitimacy he craves.
If he was a convicted sex offender would people still buy his music?

I'd guess he has about 10,000 or so hardcore fans in the UK who will still buy anything he does I'm generally able to separate art and artists. For example, Gary Glitter still gets the ocassional spin despite my abhoring his conduct and crimes Back to Morrissey, I think his recent infamy will have seriously diminished the numbers who buy his music or go to his concerts - not that he cares much I don't suppose Years ago I read he has a massive property portfolio so doubt he relies on his music earnings A good mate of mine is friends with Boz Boorer who he describes as staunchly left wing. How does Boz feel about his employer I often wonder? Why does he stick with him?

He can't claim to have been cancelled when he is still allowed to make records and perform gigs .
But he still sees himself as a victim despite this when all that's happened is that people have exercised their right to say what they want about his political leanings. I guess that because his target appears to be Islam he will get a certain amount of leeway from the hordes of Islamophobes in the media and politics.

How does Boz feel about his employer I often wonder? Why does he stick with him? You will always get stupid people who don't have their personal responsibility to see beyond a piece of music. They are the problem. If you can listen to Gary Glitter and absolve yourself of the responsibility of what that person has done to innocent children then I would suggest you reaccess what the role of music is to people. I think it's disgusting personally. Nothing excuses these crimes much least the 'enjoyment'of music.
