So this is distinct from Zeo's discussion thread which is more about 70s light pop (a genre I might have just made up) e.g. Gilbert O'Sullian, Andy Kim
How many of these themes can you name?
As played by the KPM All Stars live at The British Library on 06/10/2018...

I imagine at the time, Tony was considered something of a 'Poundland Tom Jones' by cynics ...but he had a fantastic voice.
Talking of The Protectors ...here is a fave TV theme from the same era...

...Yeah the man was a total genius. Grew up in York. His family home is now a Restaurant which i have dined in.
I knew his music way before i knew his name. This haunting theme was used for a 60s TV show called The Newcomers, which my parents must have watched, because i remember this music from my early childhood...

Because i am such a music Nutter/Obssesso/Fanatic/Nerd ...after i had soaked up an entire Box Set of Callan round a friends house about 6 years ago, i set about tracking down the theme song. After some research i finally found it down to a 10" of Library Music called Eye For An Eye which i bought from a dealer in Portugal. It's very rare and the other tracks are cool and atmospheric too

Yes, the record is a 10" by Jack Trombey & John Reids ...you'll be lucky to find a copy under £100 now as i guess alot of other people are smitten by the 'Callan Theme'
The Edward Woodward album, however is a Charity shop regular... and to be fair our Edward (RIP) has got a pretty good set of pipes there

Talking of The Persuaders, The Protectors, Zoo Gang and others, for those in the London area....
..At 2:15 pm on a Sunday, one hour before whichever one of those programmes was being shown on LWT, it was The Big Match with Brian Moore...
The theme was by Keith Mansfield and is called Young Scene from Kpm 1000 Series: Flamboyant Themes (1968)
It still gives me a thrill to hear it....
