I don't even remember 76 being that hot, guess we just rolled with the punches when we were younger. My garden is 30 degrees in the shade at the moment though with a nice breeze, the next two days sound as though they will be bad though. Bloke on the weather was giving advice to open all doors and windows for 2 hours early in the morning on the next two days and then shut everything and keep all curtains shut. Still feels counter intuitive in a way.

Hats off to the Mirror for avoiding the usual tabloid cliches (Phew what a scorcher, Britain Sizzles etc)....

Though York forty miles away is in the red zone seems Scarborough is going to miss the excessive heat. Gentle sea breezes all up the NE coast, a lovely day for the beach.

Enjoy PU
I was just musing that whilst it’s a fascinating time politically doesn’t this two-day heatwave all feel a little prophetic?
The Climate emergency is real but our Govt is completely distracted by internal wrangling
Not only that but a poll for the Times published today revealed that climate change intervention is at the very bottom of the Conservative Party membership’s list of priorities
Yep, the very same people that will be selecting the next leader of our country

The breezes dropped around 3pm and it got a little too warm. Very pleasant here now, I've just been out for a drive to a nearby village, windows down, punk on the stereo.... geriatric boy racer.

Just heard about a cold hot water bottle (partially frozen) to keep cool at night
Plan to try it tonight

Mail manages to get "Snowflake" onto their front page Just a bit of warm weather, c'mon stiff upper lip, we didn't run half the world by taking a day off work at the slightest rise in temperature

Swimming in the sea this morning, warm but choppy and overcast. Lunchtime saw an hour of rain. Sunny again now but way cooler than yesterday. Big relief after a crap nights sleep.
