GRR... When I tell people I was into punk as a youngster some of them think I mean this, which is embarrassing. If there was one person who looked like that, it would be great, but not great mobs of them. It is boring and ugly.
The early punks shared some fashion ideas, but they were all pretty different. The Pistols, The Damned, The Buzzcocks, The Clash, they didn't all look the same. And the individuals in those bands were mainly always coming up with something else and looking different as well. It wasn't static

Quite so jsm. As I mention above I'm wary of "real" anything
Real men Real punks
etc.
For many people punk was a phase. That's okay.
There's room for different reactions, different levels of commitment
It's not a cult - just a youth subculture

I was against the whole fashion and clothes fashion aspect of punk. Just became an "anti fashion" in 5 minutes which bought out the snobbery inherent in the early scene and the conformity in the later scene. Plus, lets face it, most of them looked like twats.

I wasn't big on the clobber - mainly because I couldn't afford it. I certainly was never gonna shell out ££££s on a biker jacket. "most of them looked like twats"? - strong stuff Doug

I wore a leather jacket sometimes because I had a motorbike, but rarely wore it to gigs. But if others wanted to dress like that all the time and add a mohawk, that was fine by me. However, in my experience this sort of look was never as common in Australia as it seems to have been in the UK

Always tripping over them in Leicester Square, 5 years late for a party that had finished before it even really got going. Sipping up the dregs of left over warm lager and convincing themselves it was champagne.

For all his pontification that's what Zeopold and his band look liked.🤣 I'd be more embarrassed about your countries disgraceful treatment of it's indigenous people.👍

I'm sure he is embarrassed about that but no need to mention it on a thread which has nothing to do with it .
Were Zeos spikes that big ?
Things had become a bit identikit but thats okay, not everyone can be an original .
Some people prefer to conform than use there imagination .
